Dave earned his undergraduate degree in Earth Science from Longwood College in Virginia. He later taught high school science, published a small newspaper, earned his real estate broker’s license and served his country as an officer in the U. S. Coast Guard before becoming a land surveyor in 1987. In 1994, he opened Livingston-Hughes Surveyors with an office in his daughter’s closet and his tools in an old truck. Today he leads one of the state’s most effective survey firms. He is an avid cyclist, mountain biker, adventure racer and triathlete. He currently lives in Kennebunkport with his wife and daughter who, now, only keep clothes in their closets.
